Time to register for Bible Camp! As you know, camp is a requirement for Confirmation. Early Bird registration is open at Carol Joy Holling and saves you $50 if registering before January 31. St. Paul’s is also willing to help with the cost of camp. Visit their site today! If your child would be interested in attending camp at Outlaw Ranch in South Dakota or Rainbow Trail Lutheran camp in Colorado this summer, please let Emily know ASAP.
During the month of February, 8th grade Confirmation students will explore their strengths and how they might use them for God’s work in the world. We’ll work with Strengths Coach, Alli Van Roekel, while we explore the gifts God has given us. Students will be asked to take Gallup’s Strength Finder questionnaire. We’d also like at least one parent to take this questionnaire and attend with their student. Please let Emily know if you’ve taken the assessment or need to do so. If you’ve taken it in the past, there is no need to take it again and we can help you get your results. I will order books with codes early in January.
Do you have an 8th grader? If so, make sure to add February 24 to your calendar as we’ll have a retreat. Students will continue their learning about vocation, strengths, and peer ministry. More details to come.
Be sure your child is signing up to serve during worship services using this link. Students are invited to serve as readers for scripture or the prayers of the people, ushers, acolytes, or run power point. Please utilize the Google classroom or forms in the binder to record student’s hours as Emily is not tracking this for you.
Christmas Photo Scavenger Hunt
Confirmation is St. Paul's faith formation ministry with middle school students. Classes are offered throughout the school year on Wednesday evenings. Students in grades 6 thru 8 are invited to attend classes—but anyone seeking to enhance his or her faith can join. Sunday mornings allow for students to participate in cross+generational gatherings, serve in a variety of ways including Sunday school helper, or take a class to continue learning.
During the school year, monthly youth group gatherings are also included. Some of these gatherings will take place on Wednesdays while others will happen on Sunday afternoons if more time is needed. The youth group gatherings will be time for service and fun activities to strengthen the bond between students and small group leaders as we as ways to help them live out their faith.
